Our Ultimate Goal: AFA Studios
Since June of 2023, my team and I have toiled in creating a working demo for our project’s IndieGoGo page. We’ve created incredible stuff together, and I’m super excited to share each step down the line with you all! But first thing’s first: We need to talk about our ultimate goal: to create a brand-new studio called “AFA Studios.”
AFA Studios (or “Art for Anyone” Studios) aims to provide a fundraising and production service to artists and storytellers all over the world. We hope to do so by being a public square of ideas where people online may fund projects based on the pitch. We hope this may help cut out the middle-men—or executives as some may put it—through democratic means. As in, the majority chooses what they want to watch, read, or play.
Don’t get me wrong; of course not all executives are “bad” so to speak. Many are in fact really good people who want these ideas to come to life. However, we do know the system itself can have too many hoops to jump through, and may disrespect an artist’s vision for the sake of filling a quota or image. Which, again, understandable since these are businesses we’re talking about. They gotta make money.
In our case, at AFA Studios, we mainly just want to be a small window for artists who wish to reach a more niche audience. It’s a place where artists may use unpopular methods to tell their story, such as using new technology in an outlandish art style or portraying worlds not normally seen in major entertainment industries. And here, we also count animation and video games as art.
It’s not a perfect concept, we know. Hence why right now, we are simply known as “The Bard from Racha Den LLC.” I am using my children’s story to test if this business method may work out. So far, the donation to production aspect is going very smoothly! The donations we acquired for the creation of our demo sufficed for us to move forward into the next stage. We are now ready to have an IndieGoGo page go live in February to help fund the entire first book of the novel series. If we succeed in doing that as well, and our project sells like hot-cakes, then we would finally be able to establish AFA Studios so others may achieve their creative dreams like we have!
Yes, this is all lofty, I know. But I tend to dream big. It helps me see what small action needs to be done next. Bahaha!
Now that we went through the macro level of our business plan, it’s time for the fun micro levels, my favorite! Starting this Monday, I will post weekly blogs on our journey as a team so far, first starting with how “The Bard from Racha Den” story’s came about. I’m a huge writing nerd, so we really gonna dive deep into the art of story crafting this next coming month. You don’t wanna miss it!
Thanks for reading! And may peace be with you!
